Division Lead Materials for Additive Manufacturing

We are seeking a highly motivated researcher in the field of Materials for Additive Manufacturing to join our team at the Technical University of Munich. As a Division Lead, you will be responsible for building an institutional AM alliance between TUM and industry, conducting independent research in alloy design, materials qualification, and multi-material AM, and soliciting third-party funds.

Responsibilities
  • Establish and lead a research group of several doctoral students
  • Develop and implement research projects in additive manufacturing
  • Collaborate with industry partners and academic institutions
  • Secure funding for research projects
  • Teach and mentor students
Requirements
  • Doctoral degree in Materials Science, Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, or comparable fields
  • Proven background in additive manufacturing using directed energy deposition
  • Experience in multi-material AM and materials characterization
  • Several years of professional experience in industry
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
