About the Role
We are currently seeking a Safety Engineer in Explosion Protection for our location in Wuppertal.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice to management and leadership on explosion protection matters in accordance with the German Ordinance on Hazardous Substances (GefStoffV)
- Develop explosion protection concepts for modifications to existing facilities and new constructions
- Support the production, storage, and laboratory departments in updating and revising existing explosion protection documents
- Support the production, storage, and laboratory departments in conducting inspections in accordance with the Industrial Safety Ordinance (Betriebssicherheitsverordnung)
- Support in process hazard analyses related to explosion protection
- Collaborate with the fire protection officer and fire department on matters related to fire and explosion protection
Requirements
- Natural sciences or engineering degree or degree in safety engineering
- Completed training as a safety officer, preferably with a focus on the chemical industry or degree in safety engineering
- Knowledge of relevant regulations (Directive 2006/42/EC, Directive 2014/34/EC, Directive 1999/92/EC, GefStoffV, BetrSichV, relevant technical rules and standards)
- Desirable experience as an explosion protection officer or as a person authorized to conduct inspections in accordance with Section 3.3 of Annex 2 to the Industrial Safety Ordinance
- Desirable experience in the field of the 12th Federal Immission Control Ordinance, Building Code of North Rhine-Westphalia, and Small Business Ordinance, as well as in the production of coating materials
