About First Momentum Ventures
- First Momentum is recognized as one of the most unique venture capital funds of our time.
- As one of the youngest VCs in Europe, we pioneered the establishment of a VC fund while still in college and are now advancing with our second fund, valued between €40-50m.
- In recent years, we have invested in approximately 30 pre-seed startups, concentrating on B2B and (deep) tech sectors, and have established ourselves as leading pre-seed and tech investors in Germany.
- Many of our portfolio companies have successfully secured follow-on funding from top-tier European and US investors.
- With our new fund, we aim to elevate First Momentum further and continue our journey to becoming one of Europe's premier pre-seed VCs.
- We have cultivated a network of over 150 startup enthusiasts across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
At First Momentum, our Venture Scouts play a crucial role by representing us within their local ecosystems and assisting in the identification of the most promising startups and teams. We currently have over 150 Venture Scouts in various locations throughout the DACH region and are continually seeking enthusiastic additions to our team.
Note: The Venture Scout position is unpaid; however, we offer a bounty for successful startup referrals.
Responsibilities- Serve as First Momentum's eyes and ears within your local startup community, identifying dynamic founders and innovative startups.
- Represent First Momentum at events, hackathons, and conferences, ensuring that particularly technical founders are aware of our fund.
- Act as a liaison between your local startup community and First Momentum, fostering relationships with key stakeholders.
- Share your expertise with us during the evaluation of startups in our deal-flow.
- A strong interest in the venture capital and startup landscape.
- Familiarity with your local startup ecosystem and its key players.
- Close ties to a local university, either as a student or research assistant.
- A passion for a specific area of deep tech or a general enthusiasm for B2B.
- Ability to work independently and tackle challenging tasks with enthusiasm.
- Build a personal network with founders, startup teams, investors, and other startup enthusiasts, both online and offline.
- Gain insights into how a VC operates through various workshops and hands-on experience in sourcing and evaluating startups.
- Enhance your knowledge of technologies and deep tech sectors through diverse virtual sessions.
- Accelerate your career in venture capital, at a startup, or in launching your own venture.
- Participate in startup events to expand your exposure.
