Environmental Exposure Modelling Specialist

The IUF – Leibniz Research Institute for Environmental Medicine is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Exposure Modelling position to join our team. As a key member of our core unit, you will play a crucial role in understanding and predicting the impact of environmental factors on human health.
Our research focuses on the molecular mechanisms of how particles, radiation, and environmental chemicals harm human health. We investigate the effects of environmental factors on the physiology and pathophysiology of different organs, with a focus on the pulmonary system, skin, nervous system, and immune system.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and apply computational models to assess personal exposure to pollutants and climate stressors
- Build and validate databases for areas with no coverage of ground monitoring stations, with a focus on urban areas in low-and-middle-income countries
- Collaborate with research groups to understand and predict the impact of environmental factors on human health
- Develop and maintain databases and models to support research and decision-making
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual with a strong background in environmental exposure modelling, computational science, or a related field. You should have excellent communication and collaboration skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience with programming languages such as Python, R, or MATLAB is highly desirable. Familiarity with databases and data analysis tools is also an asset.
