About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Integration Engineer to join our team at Safran Passenger Innovations Germany GmbH. As a key member of our Software Integration team, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the RAVE In-flight Entertainment and Connectivity (IFEC) System.

Key Responsibilities
  • Software Integration: Perform software integration work on hardware platforms, ensuring seamless integration of software and hardware components.
  • System Testing: Conduct System, Software, Hardware & Networking Integration and Interoperability Tests to ensure the highest standards of system performance and reliability.
  • Integration and Testing: Integrate and test 3rd party Software and Hardware components into existing products, ensuring compatibility and functionality.
  • Performance and Reliability Testing: Perform system performance and reliability tests to meet standards and requirements, identifying and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Document integration procedures and report integration results, providing valuable insights to the team.
  • Specification and Interface Management: Establish and update system and software specifications, as well as interface control documents, ensuring clarity and consistency.
  • Troubleshooting and Defect Reporting: Troubleshoot and report defects on software components and products, working closely with the development team to resolve issues.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously contribute to improved integration processes for enhanced efficiency, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes.
Requirements
  • Education: Degree in computer sciences, electrical engineering, physics or a comparable study program or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Experience: 3-6 years of experience working in a similar role, with a strong understanding of software and hardware integration.
  • Technical Skills: A very good hands-on working knowledge of Linux, with optional knowledge in programming languages such as C/C++ and scripting languages like Python and Bash.
  • Networking and Virtualization: Experience with virtualization and containers, as well as good TCP/IP networking skills (routing, switching, firewall, network services, troubleshooting).
  • Aviation Experience: Proven experience in integration and/or testing of distributed systems, with a strong understanding of aviation standards like DO-178.
  • Soft Skills: Strong written and verbal English communication skills, with a proactive, organized and team player mindset.
