Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled Legal Counsel Privacy to join our European Legal Department in Munich. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the company's compliance with data protection regulations in Europe.
Responsibilities- Advise our digital and product development teams on data protection obligations and ensure that our products and services meet the necessary standards.
- Implement and maintain our data protection management system (DPMS) in close collaboration with the Head of Privacy Europe.
- Develop and conduct training programs to increase employee understanding of data handling practices and procedures.
- Conduct data protection impact assessments and implement measures to mitigate risks.
- Review and update customer-facing documents, such as privacy notices and terms and conditions.
- Participate in the implementation and ongoing compliance monitoring of trading partner and business associate agreements.
- Investigate and document data protection incidents.
- Stay up-to-date with regulatory changes and provide recommendations for relevant actions.
- Fully qualified German lawyer or equivalent educational background.
- At least 5 years of experience in a law firm or global company, with a focus on data protection and privacy.
- Experience in the automotive industry is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of data protection regulations in Europe.
- Ability to manage projects from start to finish.
- Good understanding of data flows, databases, and IT services.
- High interest in assessing digital products and services and adopting legal areas and issues quickly.
- Proactive and self-motivated, with a strong sense of responsibility.
- Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
- Fluent in English and German, with other European languages a plus.
