Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Application Security and Privacy Engineer to join our development teams and support our business units in designing and implementing secure processes and solutions. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our web and research applications, APIs, and backend systems.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with software developers, architects, and business analysts to design and implement secure solutions
- Conduct regular threat modeling sessions and provide guidance on security best practices
- Perform code reviews and security audits to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with internal and external regulations
- Develop and maintain profiles and quality gates for our OSS and SAST scanner tools
- Monitor internal policies and external security threats, such as CVEs and zero-day vulnerabilities
- Support solution architects in designing new features and solutions
- Document and maintain system inventories related to data protection processes and personal data processing
- Define DSGVO-compliant processes in our systems and support development teams in their implementation
- University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- At least 2 years of experience as a security consultant in software development or architecture
- Excellent knowledge of software development, preferably in web development or interface development
- Experience in penetration testing, unit testing, and black box testing, as well as build pipelines with automated security scans
- Strong communication and moderation skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent German and English language skills, both written and spoken
