Research Scientist (PhD) in (Bio)Polymer Chemistry
to join our innovative research center. This role is pivotal in advancing our product development initiatives within the pharmaceutical sector.
IFF Pharma Solutions specializes in high-performance cellulose derivatives, alginates, and related polymers that cater to a diverse range of applications in Pharmaceuticals, Food, Industrial Specialties, and Personal Care markets. Our R&D Polymer Synthesis & Modification group is dedicated to driving growth by creating and commercializing novel products that address unmet market demands through a deep understanding of structure-property relationships.
As a Research Scientist, you will leverage your expertise in (bio)polymers to enhance our product offerings, collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams that include research, analytical, application development, and market-facing professionals. You should possess a PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Biotechnology, along with a minimum of three years of experience in polysaccharide research and a solid foundation in analytical chemistry. Exceptional teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish connections between polymer structures and their performance in end-use applications.
- Document research findings, technical insights, and scientific advancements through reports, publications, and Invention Disclosures while managing research projects effectively.
- Collaborate with Marketing teams to define, develop, and bring new products to market.
- Engage with the Marketing team to gain insights into market trends and performance requirements.
- Work alongside central research groups to define methodologies for material characterization and identify critical molecular parameters influencing performance.
Qualifications and Skills
- PhD in Organic or Analytical Chemistry or a related field.
- Proven experience in polysaccharide research.
- Proficiency in analytical characterization techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
