In this dynamic context, we are looking for a new Unit Manager for our team, contributing to the provision of Services to EMEA clients.
What will be your role?
As a Unit Manager within Airline Services Engineering, you will oversee a Unit dedicated to all Services clients in the EMEA Region, particularly emphasizing the Digital domain.
The individual in this role will manage a team of highly skilled professionals based in Bad Homburg. Besides team management responsibilities, a crucial aspect of the position will involve ensuring that contributions from BHO to EMEA clients align with expectations, engaging in discussions regarding project and resource requirements with EMEA Train Leaders and Senior Management.
Your responsibilities will include leading projects and maintenance tasks for various digital interfaces of Amadeus EMEA clients, as well as identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of technology deliverables, and boost team efficiency and productivity. Additionally, you will be responsible for team development, local recruitment activities, and reporting to line management in BHO.
Your key responsibilities:
AS RESULT LEADER
Organize and oversee support for developed solutions, both internally and externally (customers, operations...) Assist in designing technical solutions and conducting feasibility assessments Propose viable technical solutions to clients for validation Coordinate unit, package, and non-regression testing of software Ensure operational excellence within the team Maintain a coherent and robust technical architecture in accordance with company principles and customer requirementsAS PEOPLE LEADER (team of 10-15 developers and project managers)
Guide and motivate team members. Set and monitor objectives for individuals. Ensure effective utilization of team capacity and regularly assess quality and quantity Manage HR activities and procedures relevant to this area. Ensure timely and appropriate communication to team members regarding organizational updates. Report on team activities. Conduct annual performance reviews Provide guidance to employees and colleagues. Support the Engineering Service vision for the Team and how it can be leveraged to enhance existing solutions and develop/implement Services strategy Cultivate an agile mindset internally and promote agile collaboration with clientsWho are we seeking?
Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or Engineering (Software Development) Minimum of 5 years of relevant IT experience (in airline and/or travel domain) Strong knowledge and experience in agile methodologies (Scrum (required), SAFe (preferred)) Excellent communication skills and prior experience in customer-facing roles Familiarity with Airline Solutions Digital vision and existing solutions (Products, DxAPI, DES, Competency Centers) Proficient in web and client-side technologies (Angular, React, REST/Json APIs usage, ...) Experience with the complete product development lifecycle, including production support Previous experience in team management and/or remote site oversight is advantageous Experience in prioritizing roadmap items for delivery Comfortable working in cross-functional teams (product management, development, QA, customers), understanding team dynamics and the priorities of each functional stakeholder to meet deadlines Assertive, capable of resolving conflicts and achieving consensus in a cross-functional team Technical and domain knowledge, with an appreciation for business priorities to understand and manage dependencies in a distributed product development environmentDiversity & Inclusion
