About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Verification Engineer to join our team at Medtronic. As a key member of our Surgical Operating Unit, you will play a critical role in the development and enhancement of our globally launched Robotic Assisted Surgery platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead definition and implementation of different software testing techniques to increase test coverage.
  • Using software test engineering techniques to maximize test coverage with optimal effort in both automation and manual testing.
  • Develop and deliver all software Verification deliverables for your project to support regulatory submission.
  • Understand the technical behavior of the system, architecture, software requirements with an aptitude to identify product defects in all phases of development.
  • Lead development of solutions that have significant improvements of processes and test development with aptitude for continue improvement.
  • Coordination dry runs and formal Verification activities as required.
  • Collaborate with technical engineering teams, mentor junior test engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline, preferably software related (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering) with a minimum of 5 years of software verification experience, or Master's Degree in the same area with a minimum of 3 years related experience.
  • Medium to advanced level C++ coding ability.
  • Strong embedded testing experience, including thorough understanding of creating test protocols for verifying software requirements.
  • Good communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work successfully in a team, such as with Systems, Mechanical, Electrical and Software engineers
  • Professional level English language skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expert knowledge of Medical Product verification, IEC-62304 and FDA guidance.
  • Strong understanding of good documentation practices, various off the shelf test management systems
  • Experience leading and implementing automation framework, test tool and automation scripts, developing mocks
  • Ability to work with QA to ensure testing meets Quality and Regulatory needs.
  • Ability to manage, track and upgrade multiple hardware and software configurations.
  • Familiarity with common programming languages such as C#, Matlab, and Python is preferred.
  • Experience using a tool or repository for managing test cases (Bitbucket, JIRA, JAMA, etc).
