Position Overview: The Leibniz Institute of Atmospheric Physics (IAP) is seeking a dedicated researcher to join our team as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the EULIAA project. This role focuses on advancing our understanding of the mesosphere and lower thermosphere through innovative experimental methods.
Research Focus: You will engage in cutting-edge research in experimental atmospheric physics, particularly emphasizing optical remote sensing techniques that extend to the upper atmosphere, including the stratosphere, mesosphere, and lower thermosphere.
Project Collaboration: This position involves close collaboration with local industrial partners, facilitating the development of new instruments and measurement techniques as part of the EU-funded EULIAA initiative.
Technical Development: Your responsibilities will include:
- Working with compact lidar systems (VAHCOLI - Vertical And Horizontal Coverage by Lidar).
- Contributing to advancements in optics, including spectroscopy and laser physics.
- Participating in the design and construction of experimental setups and additive manufacturing.
- Engaging in software development for lidar control and data analysis.
Qualifications: Candidates must possess a PhD in physics, mathematics, engineering, computer science, environmental sciences, or a related field. Experience with experimental methodologies, particularly in spectroscopy and laser physics, is essential. Proficiency in programming languages such as Julia, Delphi, or C/C++ is required.
