Public Affairs Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Public Affairs Specialist to join our team at Intuitive Surgical. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing the regional Government Affairs strategy, including the development of messaging and materials for internal and external audiences, as well as ongoing engagement and management of stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and evaluate political developments relevant to Intuitive Surgical's interests
- Develop and implement effective communication and lobby campaigns to influence policy makers and influencers
- Identify, engage, and manage key stakeholders to advance the company's goals
- Conceptualize, develop, and execute stakeholder-focused events and activities in the company's Berlin office and other locations within the MEE region
- Coordinate with public affairs agencies and project partners from across the healthcare and health policy community
- Support government affairs and public policy activities in Austria and Switzerland
- Participate in meetings and conferences, with up to 20% travel
- Manage and oversee all office-related activities, ensuring the proper administration of the office and its alignment with highest standards
- Act as the central recipient of all security access tools and administer safety protocols, including fire contingencies and procedures
- Manage contracts and purchase requisitions for ongoing supplies and assigned projects
To be successful in this role, the candidate must have:
- Bachelor or Master's degree in a relevant field, such as economics, politics, or healthcare
- 2-4 years of professional experience in public affairs, healthcare, or government environment
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to monitor and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Hands-on approach to event management and a successful track record preparing events for large audiences
- Ability to convey and clearly communicate complex policies and issues
- Superior policy-oriented writing and editing skills
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently, in coordination with direct manager, local organization, and cross-functional global teams
- Ability to work in a fast-paced matrix environment
- General interest and experience in healthcare, science, and/or technology
- Previous experience in medtech or a pharmaceutical company, previous political or healthcare policy experience, and/or previous experience in an international/multi-country capacity are a plus
- MS Office proficiency
- Fluency in German and English
- This position is based in Berlin, Germany, with travel expected about 20%
