Senior Manager Technology and New Business Development

We are seeking an entrepreneurial Senior Manager Technology and New Business Development to join our corporate "New Venture" team at SCHOTT AG. In this role, you will identify and develop business opportunities within the Medical / Life Sciences space and build a strong pipeline for innovation adjacent to our existing business.
This position is part of a development program tailored for talents aiming to advance to new roles within 3 to 5 years through self-driven growth. The program offers insights into various business areas, opportunities for networking, and visibility at top management level.
Your Responsibilities- Develop new business opportunities adjacent to SCHOTT's existing business
- Identify strategic search fields for new SCHOTT business opportunities and analyze potential markets and applications
- Lead complex, international new business projects with demanding technological concepts and manage budgets
- Develop conceptual business / sales / implementation models for selected applications
- Draft purposeful business plans for subsequent decision-making and operative implementation
- Collaborate proactively with internal functional units, potential customers, and external partners
- Transfer business ideas into business units and support the development of strategies and concepts for marketing and sales of new products
- Excellent university degree in a technical/natural science/materials field with a doctorate (preferable) and additional business training with a proven business track record
- Strong business acumen paired with deep technological understanding
- Several years of international experience in business/new business development in a technology company or renowned business consultancy firm with a strong technological focus
- Excellent analytical and conceptual skills, with experience in compiling, evaluating, and interpreting market analyses
- Entrepreneurial approach with a strong commitment to teamwork
- Knowledge of technological trends in MEDTECH / Life Sciences markets and identification of innovative product ideas and business areas
- Proven track record of successful cooperation in international projects as a member of a cross-functional team, ideally with project management experience
- Fluent business English (written and spoken); German is a plus
