About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Robotics Engineer to join our team at Circus SE, a pioneering company in on-demand autonomous food production. As a key member of our robotics team, you will play a crucial role in the development of our advanced Kitchen Robotics & Automation technology.

Your expertise will be essential in developing innovative solutions that enable the kitchen chef robot to prepare dishes with precision and efficiency. You will create a sustainable and modular architecture, connecting the language of automation, robotics, and culinary.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Implement the software and control system of our robotic cell with all its components
  • Create a sustainable and modular architecture, connecting the language of automation with our culinary concept
  • Work together with our mechanical and electrical engineering teams as well as robotics engineers on the successful implementation and product launch of our robotics kitchen
  • Work closely with our test engineers to establish a fast and reliable test concept
  • Work on our cloud infrastructure, remote maintenance, and all other relevant system controls
  • Be hands-on working with our kitchen operations team to make direct observations and incorporate feedback for constant improvements

Requirements

  • At least 3-5 years of work experience in Automation Engineering, preferably in the robotics field with first leadership experience
  • Academic background in software engineering, mechatronics, or robotics
  • Experience in creating software architecture in the field of embedded systems
  • Experience in robotics path planning & optimization as well as in simulation
  • Experience in PLC programming or similar automation software systems
  • Experience with control of complex industrial automation cells
  • Passionate about hardware-related programming
  • Experience in object-oriented programming, preferably Java
  • Experience with open control and robotics frameworks (like ROS) is a plus
  • Fast 'out of the box' thinker and a much faster get-things-done person
  • Hands-on character and good communication skills through all levels
  • Willingness to work in a high-pace environment and be fully responsible for building and optimizing technical systems and processes
