Key Responsibilities:- In this challenging role, you will ensure the operational integrity of the system by managing and monitoring the transmission network of 50Hertz from the Control Center using state-of-the-art applications. It is crucial to anticipate potential developments in real-time operations and act proactively.
- You will collaborate closely with national and international transmission system operators, distribution network operators, and grid connection customers at an expert level.
- Your responsibilities will include analyzing, documenting, and continuously providing responses to inquiries regarding system security. This involves conducting load flow calculations and failure simulations, as well as coordinating operational congestion management measures, including future applications based on Artificial Intelligence.
- In cooperation with the shift management, you will develop schedules for generation facilities, outage programs, and forecasts as part of ongoing network management.
- You will support the transformation and restructuring of energy transmission in the context of the energy transition by utilizing forward-looking elements of system management, such as HVDC, offshore wind farms, and STATCOM, while conceptually advancing their optimized and systemic use in collaboration with colleagues across departments.
- Your work schedule will be from Monday to Friday in a 3-shift system or on weekends in a 2-shift system, based on a framework shift plan.
- A completed degree in Electrical Engineering (Diploma, Master's, or Bachelor's) or a comparable qualification with a strong background in electrical energy systems and/or grid management.
- Ideally, prior experience in a relevant field (for example, with transmission system operators and/or distribution network operators) is preferred.
- However, it is also possible to start without prior experience. During your training as a System Operator at 50Hertz, you will gain valuable insights and knowledge about network management and energy supply.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential.
- The ability to maintain composure under pressure to make analytically sound decisions is important.
- Experience in documentation and analysis is desirable.
- Fluent German language skills (C1) and proficient English language skills (B2) are required.
- While IT affinity (e.g., application-oriented programming) is not a prerequisite, we welcome your interest or initial experiences in this area.
- A valid driver's license (Class B) is advantageous.
