Job Title: Datacenter Technician

About the Role:

As a Datacenter Technician at Oracle, you will be the technical liaison between technology teams and the data center environment. You will troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues, understand which issues to escalate to the appropriate resolver groups, and create and maintain documentation on supported technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a data center SME liaison to other technical teams and non-technical teams.
  • Understand internal customer problems and provide technical solutions in a timely manner.
  • Participate in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all production server hardware and software.
  • System board level repair and fault diagnosis to SLAs.
  • Planning and commissioning new rack positions.
  • Training and adherence to governmental and company-set health and safety processes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
  • Recent graduates are encouraged to apply if they can demonstrate interest and knowledge in the position and a willingness to learn on the job.
  • Min 2-5 years of experience in IT Infrastructure support and server administration in a mid-sized environment.
  • Experience working in a mission-critical operations environment.
  • Strong understanding of data center design, including electrical and cooling plant operation.
  • Airflow management and rack, and stack equipment expertise.
  • Structured cabling skills on fiber and copper.

Required Systems & Hardware Expertise:

  • Systems administration (Linux and/or Windows Servers).
  • Hardware repair, diagnosis, and break/fix.
  • Networking fundamentals (DNS, TCP/IP, basic troubleshooting).
  • IT Hardware Concepts (RAID, SAN, x86 architecture, SCSI, FC, ethernet, iLO).
