Installation Engineer for Mining Solutions

Key Responsibilities

· Oversee customer site installation projects, coordinating all activities from scheduling with clients to ensuring the availability of parts, materials, and subcontractors for successful execution.

· Manage project timelines and delivery for technical installation initiatives, ensuring adherence to schedules.

· Conduct hands-on installation of safety and productivity systems, such as Vehicle Intervention Control for Collision Avoidance and Data Loggers, utilizing discrete or CAN bus data interfaces along with LTE or WiFi networks for mobile data acquisition.

· Provide training to local installation teams during large-scale fleet deployments.

· Foster customer-centric relationships by understanding client needs and collaborating with the back-end team to achieve optimal project outcomes.

· Perform functional validation of installations and facilitate the handover of solutions to clients.

· Collaborate closely with the South African back-end team to ensure project success.

Qualifications

· Self-management skills: adept at planning travel, service tasks, tool and parts requirements, and coordinating team support.

· Commitment to quality: dedicated to delivering exceptional work.

· Effective communication: ability to liaise directly with the Mine Site Customer team, as well as teams in the German headquarters and South African design and manufacturing units.

· Customer-oriented approach: prioritizing the needs of mine site customers to enhance safety and productivity.

· Hands-on, solution-driven mindset.

· Fluency in English.

Education and Experience:

· Several years of experience as an Electrical Service Technician or Auto Electrician.

· Background in electrical systems and a strong passion for the field.

· Experience in project commissioning and international projects is advantageous.

· Proficient in software installation and configuration.

· Interest in vehicle controllers, custom installations, software development, and WiFi and LTE networks.

· Enthusiasm for integrating Industry 4.0 into practical mining equipment applications.
