We are in search of a highly skilled professional to assume the role of:
Lead Accounting Expert (m/f/x) European Shared Services - limited to 18 months -
- Accurately record, post, and functionally coordinate credit and debit transactions, particularly focusing on incoming invoices while adhering to local VAT regulations.
- Execute and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger activities, ensuring the preparation of financial statements in compliance with IFRS, local commercial, and tax legislation.
- Manage payment postings and monitor payment processes, including the preparation of payment runs.
- Oversee open items, clarify discrepancies, and align with business operations, ensuring continuous reconciliation of general ledger and sub-ledgers.
- Compile reporting packages and conduct reporting analyses.
- Engage collaboratively with EU business functions, local Finance Directors, and finance and business personnel.
- Serve as the functional contact for local Finance Directors, tax auditors, tax advisors, and auditors on pertinent matters.
- Participate in or lead sub-projects aimed at optimizing accounting functions and advancing the European Finance Shared Services.
- Possess a completed degree in Business Administration or equivalent finance-related professional education.
- Professional training (e.g., financial accountant or balance sheet accountant) or certification is advantageous.
- Bring 5-7 years of experience in general ledger and sub-ledger accounting, along with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Experience in financial auditing or finance, accounting, or tax advisory roles is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience in project work within finance and accounting, preferably in global business services, shared services, or transformation contexts.
- Possess excellent knowledge of IFRS and ideally HGB, with a good understanding of international VAT law being desirable.
- Proficient in SAP R/3, SAP ECC, or S/4 HANA, along with MS Office.
- Fluent in written and spoken English and German; additional languages are a plus.
