Job OverviewFugro is in search of a Survey Engineer to become a vital member of our Marine Asset Integrity division. This department is dedicated to offshore Positioning, Survey Construction (PCS), and Inspection projects on a global scale.
As a Survey Engineer, you will play a crucial role within the Offshore Survey Team, concentrating on the deployment and functioning of positioning and survey apparatus, which includes the collection and quality assurance of data aboard offshore vessels. The position is diverse and provides the chance to not only configure, evaluate, and operate a range of cutting-edge, industry-leading survey and positioning technologies, such as Fugro's Vision Technology and Low Logistics Autonomous Underwater Vehicle, but also to gather, organize, and present findings from various survey instruments.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the setup and takedown of various vessels for offshore survey initiatives;
- Oversee the repair, preventive maintenance, and testing of equipment offshore as necessary;
- Support the calibration of survey instruments and equipment in accordance with established calibration protocols;
- Execute various survey assignments as part of the offshore survey team;
- Maintain all logbooks, fault reports, and administrative tasks in line with Fugro's standards;
- Promote and facilitate continuous enhancement of the company's procedures, including safety initiatives and quality management systems.
- BSc or equivalent in a relevant electronics/IT discipline or comparable vocational qualifications;
- Familiarity with or understanding of commonly utilized survey instruments, such as GNSS, Gyro, MRU, USBL, and ideally MBES, USBL, LBL, INS, and Digital Video;
- Strong grasp of real-time positioning principles, data acquisition, and data quality control;
- Experience in implementing Preventative Maintenance Systems, troubleshooting, and reporting;
- Proficient in CAD and online survey software applications;
- Excellent communication skills with strong English proficiency (both verbal and written) and the ability to build effective working relationships with clients and colleagues at all levels.
