About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Intellectual Property Specialist to join our team at thyssenkrupp nucera AG & Co. KGaA. As an Intellectual Property Specialist, you will play a crucial role in protecting and managing our company's intellectual property assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Search and collect technical novelty, patent documents, and scientific papers to support our innovation efforts.
  • Organize IP workshops to collect potential ideas for patents and develop a comprehensive patent strategy.
  • Assist inventors in preparing invention reports and coordinate the preparation of first filings.
  • Communicate with patent attorneys to track the progress of patent applications and maintain patent rights.
  • Manage IP assets-related documentation, including Office Actions from patent offices and summaries of our IP portfolio.
  • Execute competitor observation for our core technologies: AWE and Chlor-Alkali electrolysis, and provide timely updates to our Innovation Center teams.
  • Support Freedom To Operate analysis, patent landscape analysis, prior art searches, license agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and inventor remuneration.
  • Participate in IP budget scenarios, IP strategy, and IP roadmaps.

Requirements

  • University degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, chemistry, or electrochemistry.
  • Profound experience in the chemical process industry or engineering company.
  • Ideal additional education in the field of IP (e.g. patent engineer) or knowledge in the field of IP.
  • Familiarity with professional patent databases.
  • Excellent capability of patent judgment and infringement judgment.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with patent attorneys and R&D team members.
  • Good learning ability and sense of responsibility.
  • Excellent English skills.
