Your Responsibilities

As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for the care, development, and support of children, adolescents, and adults with physical, mental, emotional, or multiple disabilities. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing individual assistance to those in need, facilitating their academic and professional integration
  • Activating, motivating, identifying, and strengthening existing resources to promote social participation and independent living
  • Structuring the daily routine of mentally and/or physically challenged individuals
  • Applying your specialized knowledge tailored to the educational and therapeutic approaches of each institution
  • Documenting applied measures, writing development reports, creating support plans, and implementing them accordingly
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Special Education B.A. (or higher) or training as a state-recognized educator or special education assistant with completed further training as a Special Education Teacher
  • A professional commitment to promoting the inclusion and self-determination of physically or mentally impaired individuals
  • Strong observation skills, confident demeanor, and organized work ethic
  • Excellent German language skills (at least B2 level)
  • Empathy, openness, and enjoyment in working with people
  • Flexibility, reliability, and a sense of responsibility
