This role is available full-time (40 hours) or part-time (32 hours or more) in a hybrid working model.

Since its inception, users have been able to pose inquiries on a wide array of subjects and receive prompt responses from the community. We cherish open and personal exchanges of diverse opinions among our daily 1.5 million users, with approximately 6,000 new questions, answers, and comments generated each day.
Key ResponsibilitiesWhat will your role entail?
- Developing the Backend for our existing internal Data Products, with a particular focus on our Recommender Systems.
- Selecting intelligent and dependable Software Solutions that are scalable and resilient in operation.
- Creating ETL Jobs utilizing our proprietary tracking system to enhance our understanding of user behavior.
- Managing BI tasks including ad-hoc analyses and dashboard creation.
- Overseeing Streaming Jobs that process real-time data.
- Supporting the deployment of Machine Learning Models on our platform.
- Collaborating closely with your team, fellow developers, and product management.

What skills are essential for this position?
- Expertise in Backend Development, particularly in Microservices (including Thrift, RPC, Service Discovery, Scaling).
- Proficient in at least one of the following programming languages: Scala, Java, or Python.
- Experience with Data Infrastructures such as Elasticsearch, Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Data Warehousing.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and experience working in agile teams.
- Willingness to explore and learn new technologies and processes.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Proficiency in German (B2/C1 level) and a desire to further enhance language skills.
