Position Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer with a focus on Rust, you will play a crucial role in a team of highly proficient software engineers committed to developing and sustaining a robust cryptocurrency node software. Your main responsibility will be to enhance and integrate new modules crafted in Rust, which include essential components such as database interfaces, networking frameworks, and RESTful APIs. This position offers a unique chance to contribute significantly to the core of our pioneering cryptocurrency platform.

Key Responsibilities & Requirements
  • Design and maintain high-quality components and specifications for cryptocurrency node software.
  • Take charge of intricate topics, including the architecture and execution of a congestion control mechanism utilizing a dual token system, an innovative DAG-based Nakamoto-style consensus, or a reactive transaction processing pipeline/data-flow.
  • Lead these projects to successful outcomes by collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams, including Research Scientists, Software Engineers, and DevOps.
  • Adapt and excel in a fast-paced environment where your contributions may evolve rapidly based on user insights and feedback from the builder community.
  • Promote a transparent and open workplace, actively engaging with the IOTA community on platforms such as GitHub, Discord, and at industry conferences.
  • Ensure timely delivery of technical solutions while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
  • Serve as a mentor for peers in our internal Rust training initiative.
Qualifications & Skills
  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience with Rust programming.
  • Fundamental understanding of cryptographic principles (hashing, digital signatures, certificates, PKI) and their proper application.
  • Familiarity with database technologies (key-value data storage paradigm, e.g., RocksDB).
  • Expertise in networking protocols and frameworks (e.g., libp2p, TCP, QUIC).
  • Experience in designing and implementing RESTful APIs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with blockchain and distributed ledger technologies.
  • Background in cybersecurity and secure software engineering.
