Research Support Assistant in Experimental Economics

Position Overview
The Universität Freiburg is seeking a dedicated Bachelor or Master student to assist in the preparation and execution of economic laboratory experiments focused on basic income and social contracting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing economic lab experiments using Z-Tree and potentially other software such as Lioness. Z-Tree is a widely recognized software package designed for creating and conducting economic laboratory experiments.
- Supporting the planning, organization, and execution of experimental sessions, which includes participant recruitment, online marketing, and data management.
- Addressing and resolving IT and technical issues as they arise.
- Potentially assisting in the preparation of teaching materials.
Candidate Profile:
- Proficient in English; knowledge of German is advantageous.
- Strong computer skills.
- Ability to quickly learn new software applications.
- Problem-solving skills and critical thinking.
- Independence and initiative in work.
- Enjoyment of working within an intercultural and interdisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in coding or familiarity with Z-Tree, O-Tree, or Lioness is desirable but not mandatory. We expect you to learn on the job and become proficient in Z-Tree to support our team effectively.
- Students majoring in Economics or IT are encouraged to apply.

Working Conditions:
- Flexible working hours ranging from 40 to 85 hours per month to accommodate your classes and other commitments.
- Independent working environment with regular check-ins and support from supervisors.
- Opportunity to work within an international team.
- The position is available for a duration of 3 to 6 months, with the possibility of extension.
