Job Title: Senior Legal Counsel - Financial Regulations

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our Central Legal Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing legal guidance on financial regulations and fintech initiatives, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations across multiple markets and regions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal guidance on financial regulations and fintech initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations across multiple markets and regions
  • Assess legal risks associated with commercial transactions and partnerships
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to navigate regulatory frameworks and support strategic initiatives in the fintech space
  • Support the development and implementation of financial products
  • Conduct complex legal assessments pertaining to individual projects in the areas of fintech, payments, and financial services
Requirements:
  • Completed legal studies (being admitted to practice law in your local jurisdiction will be considered a plus)
  • At least 5 years of experience in the in-house legal team of a bank, a fintech firm, or the financial regulation practice of a reputable international law firm
  • Significant expertise and demonstrable interest in financial regulation, specifically in payments law (e.g. PSD2 and EMD2 Directives)
  • Experience in leading legal projects or overseeing the work performed by other colleagues
  • Great communication skills in English (both verbal and written)
  • Ability to design presentations and convey complex legal concepts and arguments in simple words for an audience of non-lawyers
