Job Description

SMS group is a leading technology and service provider in the metal industry, with a global presence and a strong commitment to innovation and sustainability. We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join our team in Mönchengladbach, Germany.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement modernization concepts for metal production processes
  • Develop and implement software solutions for automation and control systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within budget
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for automation and control systems
  • Contribute to the development of training materials and knowledge transfer within the team
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field
  • Experience with Siemens control systems (S7, TIA-Portal, Simatic WinCC) and process control systems (Simatic PCS 7)
  • Programming skills in SPS (IEC 61131-3) and high-level languages (C++)
  • Knowledge of industrial drive technology (Simotion, Sinamics) is an asset
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel worldwide
  • Proficiency in English and additional languages is an asset
