The AMXL Strategy team is in search of a Data Insights Manager to spearhead our Business Intelligence (BI) initiatives. This role will be pivotal in establishing our BI team, responsible for reporting, metric development, KPI establishment, and cross-functional collaboration to drive our success.
As a leader in the BI domain, you will collaborate with various departments to ensure clarity among a diverse group of key stakeholders and partners.
Your contributions will be essential; you will focus on creating innovative analytical and reporting platforms to support critical initiatives.
By partnering with business stakeholders, you will translate findings into actionable insights that influence key business outcomes. The visibility your work generates will enhance the experience of Amazon employees.
To excel in this position, you should thrive in uncertain environments, enjoy working collaboratively across functions, be enthusiastic about developing new products, and possess strong communication skills.
You will be tasked with designing and implementing reporting solutions utilizing Amazon cloud technologies.
A successful candidate will have a deep appreciation for business intelligence tools, be adept at handling large datasets from various sources, and actively collaborate with the business to uncover strategic opportunities and deliver impactful results.
We seek individuals who are naturally curious, possess excellent analytical skills, and have strong technical capabilities, along with superior written and verbal communication skills.
The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual, comfortable navigating ambiguity, capable of thinking innovatively while paying close attention to detail, and eager to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities- Recruit, lead, and mentor a team of Data Insights Engineers.
- Engage with leadership and diverse customer groups to identify needs and propose BI solutions.
- Exhibit strong leadership, vision, and enthusiasm to cultivate a BI team that enhances business partnerships, analytics, and reporting.
- Oversee the design, development, and implementation of analytics to provide stakeholders with structured data access.
- Promote the effective use of self-service analytical tools and reporting environments.
- Manage the design, development, and upkeep of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards that inform key business decisions.
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in analytics, data engineering, market research, or a related field.
- Proven experience in managing and hiring a team of data or BI professionals.
- Proficient in SQL and experienced with large-scale, complex datasets from multiple sources.
- Advanced skills in Excel and familiarity with data visualization tools such as Amazon Quicksight, Tableau, or similar BI platforms.
- Experience with ETL processes, data modeling, and big data technologies.
- Experience in engineering.
- People management experience, specifically with BI engineers.
- Experience in designing and delivering customized cross-functional reporting solutions.
- Familiarity with Massively Parallel Processing (MPP) databases, particularly Redshift.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
