Your Contributions
In this role, you will hold technical accountability for global projects aimed at enhancing the safety of long-distance rail travel through state-of-the-art signaling technology, adhering to the latest European Train Control System (ETCS) standards.
- Oversee projects centered on vehicle technology, particularly Onboard Units, with budgets ranging from millions to hundreds of millions.
- Conduct independent analyses of customer specifications and evaluate their technical viability.
- Establish the system architecture and collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop technical planning and proposal documentation, and manage technical claims and risk assessments.
- Articulate your technical solution concepts, including ETCS and National Train Control Systems (NTCs), and address any additional details.
- Act as the Technical Manager during the proposal phase.
- Share insights and lessons learned from your projects with your team.
Your Qualifications
To succeed in this position, you should possess:
- A degree or equivalent experience in engineering or a related discipline, forming the basis of your expertise.
- Significant experience as a System Manager or Systems Engineer within railway technology, especially in ETCS projects, development, or engineering.
- A robust understanding of railway technology systems and proficiency in managing technical requirements.
- Familiarity with pertinent standards and regulations, such as Cenelec and TSI.
- Comfort in international work environments and collaboration with diverse teams.
- Proficient command of English and German.
- A willingness to travel for business purposes (up to 20%).
