Lead Frontend Engineer - Holidu Guest Experience Product (f/m/d)

Your Future Team

  • You will oversee the user experience from the initial home display to the final booking confirmation.
  • Collaborate within a compact, cross-functional team that includes backend and frontend engineers, a project manager, a designer, a QA manager, and an engineering manager.
  • Contribute to helping millions of travelers secure their dream properties by delivering a high-performance website that prioritizes both user and developer experiences.
  • Work closely with our lead engineers to enhance our existing technical framework, focusing on our product's development and deployment.

Our Technical Environment

  • We utilize TypeScript and operate NodeJS processes within Kubernetes.
  • Our client-side technologies include ReactJS, Zustand, and TailwindCSS, while Express is employed on the server side.
  • Vite is our tool of choice for building our code.
  • Data storage solutions encompass Elasticsearch 7, PostgreSQL, Kafka, MongoDB, and Redis.
  • We leverage AWS, Docker, Jenkins, and Git extensively.
  • Monitoring is conducted using Sentry, ELK, Grafana, Looker, along with internally developed technologies.

Your Role in This Journey

  • You will take ownership of the entire frontend user journey, from landing on the site to booking their desired property.
  • Engage in the complete software development lifecycle, from ideation through to release and ongoing monitoring.
  • Enjoy the autonomy to implement your innovative ideas to further enhance and develop our products.
  • Collaborate with product management and engineering leaders to establish team objectives and prioritize engineering tasks.
  • Work alongside the entire frontend team to influence strategic technology decisions and manage the frontend backlog.
  • Design technical solutions, provision necessary resources, integrate applications directly with AWS, and ensure their maintenance.
  • Assist fellow developers in rapidly bringing their product concepts to fruition by refining our development and deployment processes.

Your Qualifications

  • A minimum of six years of experience as a frontend web developer, with a strong command of JavaScript (ES6+) and ReactJS.
  • Proficient in TypeScript, state management libraries, and TailwindCSS.
  • Demonstrated ability to create exceptional UI designs and a passion for understanding user interactions with developed products.
  • A genuine interest in tackling technical challenges and a desire to remain close to business and customer needs.
  • A commitment to data-driven practices and a passion for building top-tier products that deliver excellent user experiences.
  • Experience with experimentation and A/B testing methodologies.
  • A strong affinity for cloud infrastructure and optimizing CI/CD pipelines.
  • A mindset that embraces the philosophy of "You build it, you run it."
