About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Engineer - Mobility & Battery Solutions to join our team in Reutlingen. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative production solutions for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Select and evaluate international customer tenders and project proposals in collaboration with the sales team
  • Develop machine or equipment concepts, taking into account customer-specific requirements, in close collaboration with the relevant departments
  • Prepare project specifications, including layout and timeline
  • Calculate and budget project costs, including development expenses, taking into account potential project risks
  • Present developed solutions to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Hand over project documentation to the project management team
  • Act as a point of contact for the product management team during the design phase

Requirements

  • Completed degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Fine Mechanics, or a technical apprenticeship with further training to become a technician, or a comparable qualification
  • Proven experience in designing and developing machines and/or production equipment
  • Experience working with product platforms or building blocks with customer-specific adaptations
  • Experience in analyzing customer requirements and developing solutions, as well as evaluating cost structures
  • Familiarity with SAP R/3 and CRM is an advantage
  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills
  • High level of self-motivation and flexibility
  • Engaged and team-oriented personality with excellent communication skills and a structured approach to work
  • Excellent English language skills, both written and spoken, as well as occasional travel
