Your Job:

This position is focused on the development of scalable superconducting quantum systems. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and fabricating superconducting quantum circuits
  • Setting up experimental systems for cryogenic measurements
  • Developing a microwave quantum control and readout stack
  • Creating Python code to operate quantum systems
  • Conducting detailed experimental characterization of superconducting qubits to quantify performance and identify limiting physical mechanisms
  • Performing quantum device calibrations, benchmarking, and running quantum algorithms
  • Presenting and publishing research on an international stage
Your Profile:

We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled individual with a Master's degree in physics or electrical engineering. Key qualifications include:

  • Knowledge of solid-state physics and/or quantum information
  • Experience with programming, preferably with Python
  • Fluent speaking and writing skills in English
  • Team-oriented and highly motivated to work in an experimental laboratory
  • A background in quantum computing and experience with cryogenics, signal delivery, microfabrication, materials optimization, and microwave control are highly preferred qualifications

The position is for a fixed term of 3.5 years with the possibility of extending it to 4 years. Pay is in line with 75% of pay group 13 of the Collective Agreement for the Public Service (TVöD-Bund) and additionally 60% of a monthly salary as special payment.
