We are seeking a skilled professional with expertise in electrical systems development for aviation or in the integration of electric propulsion components into transportation solutions.
Your Role:
- As a Systems Specialist, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to assess requirements, design specifications, and functional criteria at both system and component levels to fulfill aircraft-level objectives.
- Work alongside systems and aircraft teams to guarantee coherence and thoroughness throughout the development process.
- Manage internal system engineering processes in alignment with the development lifecycle, including requirements oversight and program milestone achievements.
- Ensure the successful execution of the Verification and Validation (V&V) program for battery systems.
- Contribute to the formulation of the certification strategy for battery technologies.
- Take responsibility for the creation of component design documentation and interface control documents.
- Conduct design evaluations of battery systems and their interfaces.
- Define testing parameters for subsystem, component, sub-component, or part validation.
- Provide technical assessments of designs to ensure comprehensive requirement coverage.
- Specify and assist in the validation and verification processes of component requirements in accordance with ARP-4754A.
- Support system and component milestone events (e.g., Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review, Test Readiness Review).
- Facilitate formal audits and interactions with regulatory bodies as necessary.
Qualifications:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in process and requirement validation.
- Proficient knowledge and several years of experience in systems engineering, requirements management, and system architecture within the aviation sector (ARP4754) or other intricate product development environments.
- Thorough understanding of EASA's SC-VTOL and E-19 regulations, particularly concerning the certification of aviation batteries.
- A background in battery development with practical experience in DO-311A.
- Familiarity with certification and development protocols, including DO-160G.
- A collaborative team player with confidence in technical discussions and a proven ability to drive projects to completion.
- Fluency in English is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of high-voltage and lithium-ion batteries, digital communication protocols, and/or model-based systems engineering.
- Experience with Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA).
- Experience with battery modeling and simulation tools, such as MATLAB/Simulink.
- Project management capabilities with the ability to lead and coordinate verification efforts within a diverse team.
