Senior Computer Vision Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Computer Vision Scientist to join our team at Amazon Development Center Germany GmbH. As an Applied Scientist, you will be responsible for driving prototypes, projects, and solutions in the fields of computer vision, machine learning, and image optimization.
Key Responsibilities- Research, design, implement, and evaluate novel computer vision algorithms to improve image processing and analysis.
- Work on large-scale datasets to create scalable, robust, and accurate computer vision systems for various applications.
- Collaborate closely with other scientists and engineers to drive systems from prototyping to production level.
- Collaborate with teams across the world to develop and implement computer vision solutions.
- Engage with the scientific community within Amazon and beyond to stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in computer vision and machine learning.
- Think outside the box and identify novel opportunities for a better customer experience.
The Content Systems Science and Engineering team develops foundational computer vision capabilities for the billions of images owned by Amazon. Our systems power technologies ranging from content moderation and product classification to marketing optimization and recommendation systems.
Requirements- PhD or a Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related field.
- Experience in patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals.
- Experience programming in Java, C++, Python, or a related language.
- Experience developing and implementing deep learning algorithms, particularly with respect to computer vision algorithms.
- Experience using Unix/Linux.
- Experience in professional software development.
- Experience building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business applications.
- Experience in any of the following areas: algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, high-performance computing.
