Position: Mass Properties Engineer

As a Mass Properties Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the aerospace sector, focusing on the evaluation and management of mass-related data for advanced aircraft systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather and analyze mass-related information pertinent to aircraft such as Tornado and Eurofighter.
  • Utilize CATIA V5 to compute mass, volume, surface area, and center of gravity coordinates through analytical functions.
  • Extract component dimensions from CATIA drawings to determine moments of inertia.
  • Assess modifications and enhancements based on installation and removal documentation, ensuring calculated component masses align with specified targets.
  • Input and maintain mass-related data across various databases.
  • Conduct thorough studies on materials and components, analyzing RFAs and modifications.
  • Collaborate with system engineers to facilitate RFA creation for Tornado.
  • Provide mass properties support for Eurofighter and address mass-related inquiries from clients.
  • Oversee and evaluate aircraft weighings, ensuring compliance and accuracy during on-site operations with clients (post-training).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Aeronautics or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in mass properties, aircraft design, statics, multidisciplinary optimization, or loads analysis.
  • Familiarity with industry standards, drawing practices, and Bill of Materials.
  • Proficient in MS-Access, MS-Excel, MS-Office, MS-PowerPoint, MS-Word, and CATIA V5.
  • Experience with VPM and Teamcenter (Product Data Management System).
  • Fluency in both German and English is essential.
