Automation Engineer - Pharmaceuticals (DCS/PLC)

Discover International is a leading provider of innovative solutions in the pharmaceutical industry. We are seeking a skilled Automation Engineer to join our dynamic team and contribute to our mission of enhancing pharmaceutical manufacturing processes through advanced automation systems.

Position Overview:

As an Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) within our pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities. Your expertise will ensure that our production processes are efficient, compliant, and of the highest quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement DCS and PLC systems for pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
  • Develop and maintain automation software and hardware specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve automation system issues to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and specifications.
  • Conduct system testing and validation to ensure compliance with industry regulations.
  • Provide training and support to operations staff on automation systems.
  • Monitor system performance and implement improvements for efficiency and reliability.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in automation and pharmaceuticals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in automation engineering within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong knowledge of DCS and PLC systems (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Honeywell).
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and standards (e.g., FDA, cGMP).
  • Proficient in programming languages such as Ladder Logic, Structured Text, or Function Block Diagrams.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
