Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Develop and implement strategic procurement plans for terminal vendors, ensuring comprehensive coverage of the vendor portfolio.
  • Support the professionalization of the terminal procurement function by implementing and enhancing methods and frameworks, including port and terminal playbooks and supplier relationship management.
  • Contribute to the development of procurement frameworks and processes, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Work closely with complementary procurement teams to implement the category strategy, focusing on terminal procurement.
  • Develop, enhance, and execute negotiation strategies towards terminal operators, ensuring compliance with contractual parameters.
  • Execute strategic supplier management tasks, creating and evolving stakeholder relationships, and identifying opportunities for value add through collaboration.
  • Collect insights and conduct research activities for the relevant vendor segment, providing relevant market insights for the regions and other internal stakeholders.
  • Closely align with other procurement-internal and -external stakeholders to support identification of additional value add potentials for assigned vendor segment.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • University degree in business administration, logistics, transportation management, or a qualified shipping specialist or comparable qualification.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in transportation, shipping, terminals operations, or similar.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement functions, including negotiations and supplier relationship management.
  • Analytical thinker with a passion for research, effective communicator, fluent in English both verbal and written, result-oriented, enthusiastic, proactive, and problem-solving personality.
