International Trade Compliance Advisor
Position Overview:
The International Trade Compliance Advisor is essential in overseeing and enhancing our customs operations and global trade initiatives. The successful applicant will possess extensive knowledge of customs laws, international trade regulations, and logistics, ensuring the efficient and compliant transit of our products across international borders.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage and supervise all customs clearance activities for both imports and exports, ensuring adherence to German and global regulations.
2. Formulate and execute strategies aimed at streamlining customs processes, minimizing expenses, and boosting operational efficiency.
3. Collaborate with customs officials, brokers, and other pertinent parties to guarantee prompt and precise shipment processing.
4. Stay informed about updates in customs and trade regulations and relay this information to relevant departments.
5. Prepare and file necessary documentation for customs clearance, including declarations, certificates of origin, and other essential paperwork.
6. Work closely with logistics and supply chain teams to facilitate the smooth and efficient flow of goods.
7. Provide training and support to internal teams regarding customs and trade compliance issues.
8. Conduct regular assessments of customs procedures to identify and address potential risks.
9. Address inquiries and resolve challenges related to customs and trade compliance.
Qualifications:
- Degree in International Trade, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in customs and trade compliance.
- Experience in shipping across various transport modes (air, sea, land) is advantageous.
- In-depth knowledge of German and international customs laws and trade regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Proficient in customs management software and relevant IT applications.
- Fluency in both German and English.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and tools such as PowerBI.
