Job Description:

FERRING GmbH, a leading German production company of the internationally operating FERRING Group, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Engineering Manager to join its Global Engineering Team. Based in Kiel, Germany, the successful candidate will be responsible for planning, leading, and managing engineering, EHS, construction, commissioning, and qualification of projects within the Technical Operations Strategic portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead projects from engineering and design through to construction, commissioning, and qualification phases in collaboration with local and global engineering teams, contractors, and Ferring departments.
  • Build and lead high-performing project teams, ensuring effective collaboration and communication across all levels.
  • Provide technical expertise and be the interface between Ferring Global Engineering, program leads, local engineering/maintenance, contractors, and other Ferring departments.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company guidelines, and quality standards.
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources, identifying and mitigating risks to ensure project success.
  • Develop and implement process improvements, leveraging Lean methodologies and value engineering principles.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution, including R&D, LQA/GQA, legal, procurement, production, and maintenance.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, biology, engineering, or business administration) with formal project management training.
  • Minimum 10 years of project management experience in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably in API manufacturing, with a strong understanding of quality assurance, cGMP, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven track record of leading complex projects, managing budgets, timelines, and resources, with a focus on quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a matrix organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks, and make informed decisions.
  • Proficiency in project management tools, such as MS Project, and software applications, such as MS-Word, Excel, and Autocad.
