Position Overview:

Are you an engineer with a robust understanding of HVAC systems tailored for maritime applications? If you possess analytical skills, a drive for excellence, and a keen interest in HVAC design and analysis, this role may align with your career aspirations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing the HVAC installation framework for our vessels.
  • Acting as the primary liaison between the chosen HVAC subcontractor and our engineering team.
  • Supervising and supporting the subcontractor throughout the engineering process to ensure adherence to specifications and timely delivery of information for integration into both basic and detailed engineering.
  • Requesting quotations based on the specifications and requirements for the HVAC installation, ensuring compliance with technical standards for dredging, offshore, or defense vessels.
  • Calculating essential parameters, including heat transmission.
  • Collaborating with the purchasing department to make informed supplier decisions based on technical, quality, and commercial factors.
  • Guiding and directing the subcontractor regarding information flow, scheduling, and technical execution.
  • Ensuring the HVAC installation is completed on schedule, within specifications, and in accordance with class approvals and national regulations.
  • Providing timely data for the integration of the HVAC system into existing frameworks as part of the basic engineering team.
  • Inputting HVAC installation data into PDM and ERP systems.
  • Assisting in detailed engineering efforts to incorporate the HVAC system into the 3D CAD model.
  • Reviewing and potentially enhancing the 3D CAD model in close collaboration with detail engineering and the HVAC supplier.
Qualifications:
  • A diploma from a practical or higher education institution in a mechanical discipline, complemented by additional HVAC studies.
  • 3-5 years of experience in the shipbuilding or maritime industry, with a focus on climate and energy technology.
  • Proficiency in using 2D and/or 3D CAD software.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of thriving in a complex, international environment.
  • Proactive in proposing practical solutions.
  • Willingness to learn Dutch if not already proficient.
