Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst to join our team at Bertelsmann SE & Co. KGaA. As a Data Analyst, you will play a crucial role in helping us make data-driven decisions and drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Explore large datasets, evaluate data quality, and model data to gain valuable insights
  • Apply statistical methods to understand consumer behavioral patterns relevant to product development and operational efficiency
  • Analyze problems to identify root causes and develop data-driven solutions
  • Collaborate with Data Scientists and Data Engineers to build and implement analytical solutions
  • Visualize data and transform it into compelling stories to inform business decisions
  • Derive actionable insights, provide decision support, and make recommendations based on data-driven insights
  • Advise business units and functional teams on data-related questions and provide expert guidance

Requirements:

  • Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Consulting skills, with a particular ability to provide insights and recommendations
  • Ability to identify issues, structure and conduct the necessary analysis, and draw well-informed conclusions
  • Experience in a programming language such as SQL, Python, or R
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities, be detail-oriented, work independently, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Master's/MBA degree in a numerate subject (e.g., Data Science, Mathematics, Informatics, Economics, Natural Sciences, or Engineering)

Nice to Have:

  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in data analysis roles within Data & Analytics solutions
  • Experience with cluster analysis and machine learning
  • Experience in the payments, risk, or factoring space
  • Familiarity with modern data stacks, preferably Databricks
  • Experience in quantitative research
  • Understanding of data extraction and manipulation
  • Ambition to develop as a professional in an entrepreneurial organization, with opportunities to work on your areas of interest
