Bridge Construction Claims Specialist

Job Overview
As a Bridge Construction Claims Specialist at STRABAG AG Direktion Brückenbau, you will play a crucial role in supporting the construction and project management team by evaluating contract issues and identifying potential claims. Your expertise will be essential in handling contract-related correspondence, monitoring communication, and managing and tracking submitted claims.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate contract issues and identify potential claims to ensure timely resolution and minimize project delays.
- Handle contract-related correspondence and monitor communication to maintain open lines of communication with clients and subcontractors.
- Manage and track submitted claims to ensure accurate and efficient processing.
- Assist project teams in documenting construction site events for accurate claim preparation and resolution.
- Analyze and assess deviations in performance and their impacts on construction progress and costs.
- Identify, prepare, and enforce contract changes, hindrances, and disruptions to ensure project compliance.
- Assist in defending against claims by clients and subcontractors to protect the company's interests.
- Participate in negotiations for contract changes, construction contract meetings, and partnership meetings to resolve disputes and achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Coordinate the deployment of external construction management consultants to provide expert support and guidance.
Requirements
- Completed studies in civil engineering or a comparable qualification, such as a technician.
- Several years of experience dealing with clients and subcontractors is desirable but not mandatory, as we will provide training for your new role.
- Deep knowledge of construction operations, construction contract law, construction scheduling, and costing.
- Good knowledge of MS Office, RIB iTwo, and scheduling software.
- Team player, confident, good communication skills, assertiveness, and negotiation skills are essential for success in this role.
