Elastomere Research Assistant

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our research and development team as a Silicone Technology Development Intern. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects related to silicone elastomers and other advanced materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and optimize existing and new formulations, recipes, and products in the area of silicone elastomers and related materials.
  • Conduct experiments and analyze data using various physical and rheological testing methods.
  • Operate modern equipment such as TestXpert III, Micro-Systems Exponent, Alpha-Technology Workbench & Online Manager, RheoWin, or RheoCompass.
  • Manage and record data, including creating tables and graphs.
  • Assist in evaluating test results and performing necessary calculations.
  • Organize raw materials and lab supplies, and ensure proper disposal.

Requirements:

  • You are currently studying in the field of chemistry.
  • You have completed or are in the process of completing your practical semester and have relevant laboratory experience.
  • You have knowledge of organic chemistry and have worked with chemicals in a laboratory setting.
  • You possess strong analytical skills, enabling you to quickly understand complex relationships.
  • You are self-motivated and well-organized, able to efficiently and reliably complete tasks.
  • You approach problems and tasks with a solutions-oriented mindset, finding ways to overcome challenges.
  • You are eager to learn and develop your skills both on and off the job, continuously expanding your knowledge.
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and have SAP knowledge, which is a plus.
  • You have excellent written and spoken German skills, with English proficiency being a plus.
  • You are familiar with standard laboratory safety protocols and know how to handle chemicals properly.
