About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Tech Lead Manager to join our dynamic Generative AI team at eBay. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and growing a dedicated team of applied researchers and engineers with diverse skills to advance new capabilities and product experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and grow a team of applied researchers and engineers to advance new capabilities and product experiences.
  • Set success metrics for groundbreaking research and innovation, ensuring continuous integration into products.
  • Foster team growth and development, providing guidance and mentorship to team members.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and product development.
  • Develop and implement strategies to drive business growth and revenue.
Requirements
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computational Linguistics, or a closely related field.
  • Solid understanding of machine learning and NLP algorithms, neural model architecture, LLMs, training techniques, and building performant inference pipelines to solve complex problems.
  • Previous experience hiring, mentoring, and developing elite researchers and engineers, guiding them in their development.
  • Tight-knit collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work efficiently in a multidisciplinary team and influence outcomes.
  • Analytical approach with excellent problem-solving abilities and a keen attention to detail.
  • 3+ years of experience mentoring and leading applied researchers in teams delivering product capabilities.
  • Track record shipping NLP products.
  • Experience in ecommerce is a strong plus.
