Payroll Director

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:
The Payroll Director provides first-line people management, overseeing the team's payroll activities across adidas AG. This role ensures day-to-day leadership, maintaining proper controls and processes, monitoring performance while managing and developing the Payroll team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitors the team's performance daily, ensuring direct reports meet individual tasks, deadlines, and established standards.
- Coaches and mentors staff to ensure each team member excels individually and motivates the team to work collaboratively towards shared goals.
- Acts as a third-level escalation point, resolving issues promptly, including root cause analysis and process improvement based on findings.
- Evaluates and reports on service performance, taking corrective actions when needed.
- Ensures payroll services are processed in accordance with established procedures and all legislative compliance requirements.
- Maintains adherence to Internal Controls, other guidelines, and supports internal & external audits.
- Builds and maintains long-term relationships with internal or external customers and key stakeholders.
- Supports the ongoing outsourcing relationship with Payroll vendors in the region.
- Contributes to the implementation of the Hire to Retire Strategy regarding tools, programs, and processes at a regional level.
- Creates and implements realistic goals for the team aligned with GBS strategy.
- Develops and implements best practices, key performance indicators, and SLA metrics.
- Maintains confidentiality of any private employee information, proprietary information, and ensures HR and Payroll information is secure.
- Participates in internal and cross-functional projects as required.
- Acts as a role model, adhering to relevant laws and regulations, adidas' Fair Play Code of Conduct, and other internal policies and company agreements.
