Position Overview
We are seeking a (Senior) Financial Analyst (f/m/d) to join our team in Essen or München. This role presents an opportunity to influence not only the future of E.ON but also your own career trajectory.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyze, and report on key financial and risk performance indicators, including variances from planned figures for the Energy Markets function and E.ON Energy Markets GmbH.
- Develop a cutting-edge reporting framework for Energy Markets portfolios, enabling automation for enhanced data visualization.
- Enhance transparency regarding value drivers, particularly focusing on cost structures and cash flow metrics.
- Evaluate Special/Complex Transaction Approvals from a controlling perspective.
- Prepare the Energy Markets Mid-Term Plan (MTP) for the E.ON SE board, ensuring clarity on cost structures and inter-company charges.
- Deliver ad-hoc analyses, reports, and presentations tailored for executive stakeholders and relevant decision-making bodies.
- Collaborate with various central and regional stakeholders, including Group Financial Controlling, Business Controlling, and regional Risk & Finance functions.
Qualifications
- A numerate and analytical degree from a recognized university.
- Experience in the energy sector, including roles in energy procurement, sales, or trading as an Analyst, Energy Economist, Commercial Controller, Risk Manager, or Front Officer.
- Proven track record in automating data processes or visualizing data using tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Strong commercial acumen regarding the performance drivers of a commodity or energy portfolio, with the ability to convey insights clearly to stakeholders.
- Exceptional communication skills, with a focus on partnership, storytelling, and empathy.
- In-depth understanding of commodity and renewable energy markets (power, gas, certificates).
- Willingness to thrive in a commercial, high-performance market environment; proactive, self-motivated, and adaptable to changing priorities.
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of German is a plus.
