Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Kuppenheim, Baden-Württemberg. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the design, installation, and maintenance of mechanical systems within our state-of-the-art demonstration facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the engineering and design of mechanical systems and components tailored to the requirements of battery recycling processes.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-disciplinary teams, including process engineers and equipment manufacturers, to ensure the seamless integration of mechanical systems.
  • Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical equipment, ensuring adherence to industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Conduct in-depth mechanical analyses to enhance equipment performance and energy efficiency, focusing on continuous improvement.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including specifications and manuals, to support mechanical systems.
  • Provide expert guidance to operational teams, assisting in troubleshooting and implementing corrective actions for mechanical challenges.
  • Collaborate with R&D teams to facilitate the development of innovative mechanical technologies.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. A Ph.D. is a plus but not mandatory. We are looking for individuals with:

  • Significant experience in mechanical engineering, particularly in industrial or process environments, focusing on equipment design and optimization.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.
  • Proficiency in engineering design software, including CAD and FEA tools.
  • Experience collaborating with EPC contractors and interdisciplinary teams to deliver complex projects.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Fluency in both German and English, written and verbal.
