This role involves the meticulous crafting of optical lenses for spectacles, ensuring precision and quality in every pair produced. The technician will handle requests for eyewear, utilizing both stocked and custom lenses, while adhering to the highest standards of optical performance.

Key Responsibilities

Single Vision and Stocked Lenses:
- Process requests for spectacles, including focal points, frame specifications, and patient details.
- Match lens foci with prescriptions accurately.
- Utilize lens measuring instruments to identify optical centers and adjust lenses accordingly.
- Cut lenses to the required specifications and apply safety bevels.
- Inspect finished spectacles for defects and compliance with ANSI standards.
- Maintain accurate production records and assist in quality control processes.

Multi Vision and Non-Stocked Lenses:
- Handle prescriptions requiring surfacing and select appropriate base curves.
- Monitor the computerized lens cutting process and ensure quality throughout.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and document all actions taken.

Qualifications

Education:
- Completion of vocational training in the optical field, lasting at least 30 months, or equivalent experience.
Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the optical industry.
- Additional experience may be required based on the complexity of tasks performed.

Language Proficiency

- English proficiency at level A2 and German proficiency at level C1 are required.

Working Conditions

- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 40 lbs.
