Job Responsibilities
This position plays a vital role in ensuring public safety by overseeing the daily operations of Security Supervisors, Corrections Officers, and Inmates within a correctional facility. The incumbent will supervise and evaluate staff during their assigned shifts to maintain a secure, safe, and efficient environment. Responsibilities include leading and mentoring team members, coordinating work schedules, and managing duty assignments.
Key Duties Include:
- Conducting regular inspections to uphold security, cleanliness, and order within the institution.
- Engaging with management, staff, visitors, inmates, and the community to ensure smooth and secure operations.
- Administering performance management processes for team members.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid Driver's License, and DCJS Certification. Considerable experience in corrections or law enforcement is required, along with a background in supervising corrections personnel. Proficiency in planning, scheduling, and organizing work, including timekeeping and duty roster management, is essential. Applicants should have experience in reviewing and assessing records and reports, as well as knowledge of security practices and procedures.
Additional Considerations
Preference will be given to candidates who are LEAD Graduates or have equivalent experience and training. Familiarity with evidence-based practices and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, is advantageous.
