About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software System Engineer to join our team at Volvo Construction Germany GmbH. As a key member of our Control System team, you will play a crucial role in developing the Electric and Electronic system of our compact wheel loaders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop vehicle functions in cross-functional teams and implement them in our software environment
  • Realize software functions either model-based or hand-coded
  • Design, implement, and integrate vehicle and safety functions, as well as diagnostic and error handling
  • Work in different areas like HMI functions, data management, control algorithms, and Artificial Intelligence
About the Team

Our team is responsible for the whole Electric and Electronic system of our machine, from the first drafts to the launch of new products. We use tools like virtual product development and 3D to define the vehicle functions, design components, and deliver the software for our machines. We also work on product maintenance and continuously improve our products and working methods.

Requirements
  • University degree with a focus on electrical engineering, informatics, mechatronics, or a comparable qualification
  • High sense of responsibility and ability to quickly familiarize yourself with new topics
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as a strong team orientation and willingness to share knowledge and continuously develop yourself
  • Experience in software development of embedded systems, model-based development, and simulation
  • Knowledge of working with requirements and functional safety, as well as experience in the construction machinery industry, is an advantage
  • Good written and spoken English knowledge
