Safety and Compliance Officer

About the Role:
As an Occupational Safety Specialist at Amazon Deutschland W32 Transport GmbH - L04, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe work environment for our employees. This position offers an entry into the field of occupational safety and a chance for professional development in a global company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify potential safety issues
- Monitor the site to ensure processes align with Amazon's safety protocols and regulatory requirements
- Generate and update safety metric reports for colleagues to review and analyze
- Collaborate with and provide guidance to colleagues across the organization on safety issues and processes
- Assist in implementing new safety measures and procedures
A Day in the Life:
You will work on-site at one of our logistics facilities, closely monitoring operations and addressing any questions from employees during their shifts. Your role involves identifying potential safety issues proactively, understanding how equipment is utilized by employees, and ensuring optimal process safety.
You will assist in collecting essential data to understand and prevent process issues, sharing this information with colleagues and working with other teams to prioritize safety.
About the Team:
The Work Health and Safety (WHS) team, in conjunction with managers, partner companies, and local governments, ensures compliance with all regulations and legal requirements to maintain safe workplaces across our locations. From safety engineers to program managers, each team member contributes to upholding high safety standards.
Requirements:
- Education or experience in a relevant field, such as occupational health and safety or a related discipline
- Experience in utilizing data analytics to generate and support metrics
- Advanced proficiency in German
- Good proficiency in English
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience effectively communicating with stakeholders through writing or presentations
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Certified in occupational safety
